LAHORE: The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Punjab has completed its inquiry into the fake recruitment scandal, uncovering a massive fraud where ghost employees received over Rs 30 million in salaries without ever working.

The probe, focused on the Institute of Public Health (IPH), revealed that several individuals were fraudulently added to the payroll, collecting salaries and benefits while staying at home. Following the inquiry, the Punjab Health Department has removed 10 ghost employees and taken decisive action against those involved in this organized corruption.

A case has been registered against the fake recruits for unlawfully obtaining salaries and privileges. Authorities have also issued recovery orders, demanding the return of misappropriated funds. Additionally, Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab has been directed to take strict legal action against all individuals implicated in this fraudulent scheme.
