KARACHI: In a significant acknowledgment of her unwavering commitment to health and human development, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, the Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare in Sindh, has been conferred the prestigious Aga Khan University (AKU) Lifetime Achievement Award. The award ceremony took place during the National Symposium on Primary Health Care, held on April 15, 2025, at the AKU campus in Karachi.

Over 25 years of service in health and population welfare

With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in Pakistan’s healthcare sector, Dr Pechuho has been at the forefront of healthcare reform, maternal and child welfare, and disease prevention. Her work reflects a people-first approach, rooted in evidence-based policymaking, inclusive planning, and sustainable implementation.
