More dengue cases surface in Karachi

KARACHI: The Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh has recorded 751 dengue fever cases across the Sindh province since 1^st January to 5^th September 2020, out of which 695 emerged from Karachi alone

The PCPD registered 252 dengue fever case in January, 125 in February, 80 on March, 31 in April, 49 in May, 70 in June, 49 in July, 67 in August, and 28 till 5^th September 2020. Death due to dengue fever has also been reported in Karachi this year.

Out of 751 Sindh cases, 695 were reported in Karachi Division, 31 in Hyderabad, 10 in Mirpurkhas, 7 in Sukkur, 6 in Larkana, and two in Shaheed Benazirabad, respectively.

In the Karachi Division, 187 cases surfaced in District Central, 202 in District East, 81 in District West, 98 in District South, 76 in District Korangi, and 26 in District Malir. Twenty-five cases from Karachi were unspecified and unresponsive.
