ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) recently granted two $685 million loans for Pakistan to help with health and energy initiatives.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has granted a $300 million policy-based loan to promote economic, technical, and governance transformations in Pakistan's energy sector in order to boost the country's financial sustainability.
The ADB also allocated $385 million in financing to enable five cities in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to enhance their livability and healthcare settings.
As per Yevgeniy Zhukov, Director General, ADB, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project would assist in the construction of two clean water supply treatment facilities, three sewage treatment facilities, and the rehabilitation of faulty tubes.
Over 3.5 million people would benefit from enhanced access to clean and safe water, dependable and comprehensive waste management and sanitation facilities, green urban areas, and gender-friendly infrastructure needs.
