Dr. Warda's body recovered as police probe murder allegedly linked to gold dispute
ABBOTTABAD: The body of doctor Warda, who had been missing for five days, was recovered from the dense forests of Thandiyani after police were led to the location by an arrested female suspect, officials said on Monday.
According to police, a woman named Rida — a close friend of the victim — has been arrested and is believed to have handed Dr. Warda over to hired assassins. Investigators said a hired killer has also been detained, while the prime suspect in the murder plot remains on the run. Raids are underway to apprehend the fugitive.
Initial findings suggest the murder may have been motivated by a dispute over 67 tolas of gold that Dr. Warda had entrusted to Rida. Police said they have collected “concrete evidence” against the arrested suspects, and further forensic and investigative work is in progress.
Authorities are examining phone data, witness accounts and other recovered material to establish the full sequence of events. Officials have appealed to the public to provide any information that could help trace the remaining suspect.
The case has sparked deep concern among residents in Abbottabad and beyond, raising questions about personal safety and financial trust. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation and rely solely on official updates as the investigation continues.
