PMDC finalizes preparations for nationwide digital inspector training
ISLAMABAD: The nationwide digital inspector training initiative moved a step closer to rollout as the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) finalized preparations for its upcoming three-day National Inspector Training Program. Scheduled for 9 to 11 December 2025, the program will equip inspectors with the digital tools, updated frameworks and standardized methodologies needed to conduct fully digitalized inspections of medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.
A high-level meeting was held at the PMDC headquarters in Islamabad, bringing together 12 Master Trainers to review the training framework, logistics and implementation strategy. The meeting underscored PMDC’s commitment to modernizing the inspection system through evidence-based, transparent and technology-enabled processes.
Participants reviewed the structured three-day training program designed to enhance the competency of master inspectors, who will in turn train inspection teams nationwide. Discussions focused on:
• Finalization of the digital inspection workflow
• Allocation and roles of facilitators
• Selection of participating medical and dental institutions
• Development of training materials, including the Inspector Guide and digital inspection platform
The meeting was chaired by the President of PMDC, who emphasized the critical importance of standardized and transparent inspection procedures. The leadership highlighted that the digital inspector training program will play a vital role in strengthening the accreditation system, improving documentation accuracy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Master Trainers also reviewed documentation protocols, assessment tools and compliance benchmarks that will be used throughout the training. It was noted that the upcoming program will provide inspectors with updated knowledge, digital competencies and modern evaluation techniques essential for conducting credible, efficient and high-integrity inspections.
By integrating technology and standardized procedures, PMDC aims to ensure that inspections of medical and dental colleges are consistent, evidence-based and aligned with global best practices — reinforcing public trust and enhancing the quality of medical and dental education across the country.
