Early detection can help check cardiac issues’ progression

KARACHI: Cardiologist Dr. Gulzar Ali has called for creating public awareness for the early detection of heart diseases and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle to prevent cardiac issues, particularly among young individuals.

He warned that factors such as reduced physical activity, sedentary jobs, poor sleep patterns, and unhealthy eating habits contribute significantly to the increasing prevalence of heart diseases among youngsters.

He advised the youngsters that a simple lifestyle can help reduce the risk of heart disease.

He stressed the need for early screening to halt the progression of the disease, stating that early detection is crucial for effectively combating heart diseases.

Dr Gulzar Ali further pointed out that chewing tobacco and smoking are major contributors to heart diseases among the younger population in Pakistan.

He said that high blood pressure (hypertension) is not only a concern for the elderly but also for the youth, who are increasingly susceptible to this silent threat.

The expert recommended meditation, yoga, and mindfulness as powerful tools for mitigating stress and promoting overall well-being.

He also emphasized the importance of a healthy breakfast for everyone to maintain good health.
