VIRGINIA, USA: Dr Faiqa Noor Khan, a distinguished pediatrician of Pakistani origin and daughter of former Pakistan Air Force chief Air Marshal Noor Khan, has passed away following a tragic road accident in the United States. She was 75 years old.
According to US media and police reports, the fatal incident occurred over the weekend in Dinwiddie County, where Dr Khan’s vehicle collided with a road barrier and subsequently caught fire. Authorities confirmed that she died at the scene due to the impact and resulting blaze.
A distinguished career in pediatric medicine
Dr Faiqa Noor Khan, also known professionally as Dr Faiqa Aftab Qureshi, was a highly respected pediatrician who dedicated decades of her life to child healthcare in the United States. She joined Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in 1993, where she later served for many years as Medical Director of the Emergency Department.
In an official statement, the hospital paid tribute to her exceptional service, noting that her commitment to children, families, and the mentoring of young physicians left a lasting and meaningful legacy within the institution.
Strong ties to Pakistan’s medical academia
Dr Khan was also a proud alumna of King Edward Medical University (KEMU), where she graduated in 1973. The university expressed deep sorrow over her passing, describing her as a distinguished graduate who later served as a faculty member and contributed to medical education in Pakistan before continuing her career abroad.
