Life after breast cancer surgery: Fertility concerns and hope for women
KARACHI: As Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins, Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is launching a live session titled “Life After Breast Surgery” to support women facing concerns about fertility after breast cancer treatment. The session will be hosted online on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 3:30 pm, featuring Dr Sana Zeeshan, Consultant Breast Surgeon at AKUH.
For many women, breast cancer treatment raises difficult questions about fertility and family planning. Dr Sana Zeeshan will address these sensitive concerns, including:
- Common fertility worries before and after breast cancer surgery
- Safe options for preserving fertility during treatment
- Overcoming myths and misinformation surrounding breast cancer and pregnancy
- The possibilities of a fulfilling life after surgery
The session aims to break the silence around fertility and cancer, empowering women to seek timely guidance and make informed decisions.
The event will be broadcast live on Aga Khan University Hospital’s official Facebook page at facebook.com/AKUHPakistan. Participants will be able to join in real time, ask their questions, and receive guidance directly from Dr Sana Zeeshan.
Dr Sana Zeeshan emphasized that too often, women remain silent about fertility challenges due to stigma and lack of information. She encouraged patients, survivors, and families to join this interactive session to ask questions live, clear doubts, and access expert advice directly from a trusted breast surgeon.
